Honest Ipad 2 Review

My ipad review
I created this site because I absolutely loved the idea of getting my own ipad, but it wasn’t until just before Xmas that I scored an ipad2 and I thought I would write a quick ipad2 review from a non-technical point of view, seeing I have had some time to play with my ipad over the last couple of weeks.
Firstly, it is really cool and I love the apps available, however, it can get confusing with some apps being suited for iphone rather than ipad, and visa versa.
It takes a lot longer to charge than the iphone and seems to chew through the battery a lot quicker, so be prepared to always have your charger handy. I also found the ‘in car’ charger for the iphone doesn’t work on the ipad.
I found whereis to be a fantastic help, much easier than trying to read a damn map, but it doesn’t work on the iphone 3GS, keep crashing. There is no need for expensive ‘in car’ navigators if you have this app plus Google maps also does something similar which is cool.
I find browsing a little painful and it took me a little while to figure out I had to create a new page before I could get rid of the old one. I don’t like how it records all the pages I visit and I have to go into the bookmarks to delete them, but now I know how to do that it isn’t too big a deal. We do certainly have a long way to go to make browsing more user friendly, with a lot of sites not taking into consideration mobile browsing.
I love playing Angry Birds on the ipad because I can actually see the little buggers and it is great for some mindless entertainment.
Reading ebooks is pretty easy, I haven’t used a Kindle so I am not sure if there is a massive difference in readability, but it did the job.
Another little bug I found is that I have to keep turning off the ipad if I want to use the data plan because it keeps picking up my home wireless network even if I have deleted it, the ipad will still try to connect to it instead of using the data plan connection. That was very frustrating until I figured out that if I delete the wireless and turn off the ipad then it will use the plan when I switch it back on.
Anyway, that is my ipad review and I hope you got some valuable insight into the good and bad about the ipad. I still love mine.
If you have an ipad app or would love to provide a review on ipad 3 I would love for you to contact me with your article.
